Frequently asked questions
Answers to what homeowners and property managers ask us most. Don't see your question? Call or email.
Dryer vents
How often should I have my dryer vent cleaned?
At least once a year. Large households, heavy laundry loads, pets and long vent runs may need it every six months.
How long does a cleaning take?
Most dryer vents take about an hour. Long runs, roof exits and heavy buildup can take longer.
How much does dryer vent cleaning cost?
The price depends on the length and layout of the vent run and where it exits your home. Call for a free quote and you will know the price before we start.
Do you clean vents that exit through the roof or a second story?
Tell us when you book. These exits take extra time, and we include that in your free quote before we start.
Can birds nest in a dryer vent?
Yes. Outside vent hoods are a common spot. A nest blocks airflow and can be a fire risk. We clear nests and debris from the vent and the cap.
Why is my dryer taking so long to dry?
A clogged vent is one of the most common causes. A full lint trap or a dryer that needs repair can also be the cause. If a cleaning doesn't fix it, we'll tell you what we see.
Is it safe to run my dryer if I think the vent is clogged?
If you smell burning or the dryer is very hot, stop using it and call us. If you see smoke or flames, get everyone out of the house and call 911.
Air ducts
How often should ducts be cleaned?
Every three to five years is a common guideline. Sooner after a renovation, a move, or if you have pets.
How long does air duct cleaning take?
Most homes take two to four hours, depending on the size of the home and the number of vents.
Will it make a mess?
We protect your floors and collect debris with a vacuum, so dust stays out of your living space.
I see something that looks like mold. What should I do?
Tell us when you book, and show us when we arrive. We will point out what we find and explain your options before you decide on anything.
Do I still need to change my filters?
Yes. Duct cleaning does not replace changing your filters on schedule.
